Interactive Dance Concert/ A performance Within a Performance
This season Da Capo will be re-staged for the venue Perdu Theater. Gabriela Zuarez envisioned a bricolage done from dance documentation to live performance that triggers the boundaries between the spaces of the documentation, the performative, and the performers’ presence. Together with the ensemble of a musician, filmmaker, and dancer, she presents this unique self-reflective theatre work adapted to the Perdu theatre space.
Da Capo is a colorful theater performance in which the tango is central. It is an hour-long journey back in time to the origin of the dancing body. A trip to which dance, music, images, and light merge into one sparkling whole. And in which a new performance is created within that performance with a video registration.
The performers take you on this journey from now to then, and from there from old to new. In an exciting setting, expressive contrasts are depicted between nostalgia and desire, loneliness and togetherness, intimacy and distance. The fact that these contrasts have played an important role for many in recent times pandemics makes this performance even more worthwhile.
